We've left home!

A lot has happened since the last blog entry! We've bought a used 1993 Gulfstream. It's the type of RV that you drive, it's 34 ft and turquoise blue with a lovely palm tree emblazed on the back! We've started boxing stuff and selling stuff on craigslist. It's been very difficult to sort everything you own into a)bring with us, b)throw away, c)sell, d)put into storage and pay a monthly fee for this item. We started living in the motorhome while it sat in the driveway, gradually dragging things out of the house as needed. Chris has worked resolutely on fixing the problems that came with buying a used rig: he fixed both A/C units, the leveling system, the shower, the batteries, the electric steps, tuning up the engine.... the list goes on!
Now we have finally flown the coop. Sort of. We have made our first tentative move to McKinney Falls State Park which is 45 minutes from home. I'm working overtime and this place happens to be five minutes from work. Today after work we cooked dinner in the RV which heated us up to a nice 90 degrees or so inside the RV and then enjoyed a short hike and swim in the lake after dinner and watched the sun set over a waterfall. Looks like its going to be a nice life of giving up comforts to gain rewards.
